few new paintings : ) I'm really excited about all of these, i feel like I’m doing something right finally, like I’ve always made paintings but I’m finally actually painting, If that makes sense. So all of these are sort of dealing with precariousness, the unobtainable, the laws of chance, constant shifting and adapting, desire, wander and obsession.. I am playing with the idea of collage as painting, layering and abstracting. All of these new paintings are 2x2 which pose an initial dilemma that has to be dealt with. The compositional choices and use of more intuitive, imaginative, unnatural colors let me bring a sense of illusiveness to play. I like that these paintings all started with no predestined goal, and that they are all stream of consciousness compositions that inspire a bit of adventure and I also like that all layers simultaneously and vigorously demand your attention, although these paintings weren’t intended to have a narrative, I understand that they do evoke the idea of story-telling if and you'd like to create one you can.
